Course Description

Master's students can learn a range of academic research skills to produce a master's-level written project. You'll learn from leading academics at Coventry University how to identify topics that are worthy of research, and what main issues you should solve by using the cyclical process. Learn how to use inductive reasoning to guide your research and gather data to support your work. You'll learn the importance of making the right decisions and planning ahead when creating a project. You will be able to develop a research question for an actual piece of research by looking at examples of research questions. It is important to learn how to create a hypothesis and a rationale for a research question.

You should be able to create a compelling research question for your proposed research piece by the end of this course. FutureLearn has made it possible to earn a degree since 2017. This course can be viewed as a beginner course in a degree program. It will give you an idea of what the subject is like, but it also gives you the opportunity to start your journey towards a degree. You can join FutureLearn's program if you like this course and start to work towards your degree. You don't have to complete a degree in order to take this course.
