Do you care about climate change? Do you want to know how to tackle this problem? This course is right for you. The course Act on Climate: Steps for Individual, Community and Political Action aims to teach learners how to understand, respond and address climate change both as individuals, in collaboration with their communities, and through partnership with political leaders. This course will teach you how to turn your learning into climate action in areas such as food, energy and transportation. Michaela Zint (Professor of Environmental Education and Communication) and University of Michigan Students co-developed and taught this course. These include a variety of climate experts as well as professional leaders.
You will have the ability to complete this course and be able:
1. Identify individuals, communities, and policies that you could engage in to address climate change.
2. Discuss how social science insights can be used to bring about change at all levels of society, including the community and the political.
3. Feel empowered to make an impact on how your community and politicians respond to climate change.
