Course Description

The course provides an overview on ADHD treatment and diagnosis. Participants can expect to be taught about ADHD, a developmental disorder that starts in childhood. They will also learn evidence-based methods for diagnosing ADHD. Two evidence-based treatments, the Daily Report Card (and Parenting Strategies), will then be presented. These course activities should not be considered as a substitute for working with licensed professionals. Learning Objectives: The students will identify ADHD-related behaviors and be able, using evidence-based treatments, to apply these procedures in school or at home.

1. You will need to identify the areas that are most affected by ADHD, as well as the symptoms, so you can make a diagnosis for your child.

2. Create a behavior intervention that can be used to treat ADHD at school.

3. Effective parenting strategies and teaching methods can be used to support ADHD youth in their home, school, and community.
