Course Description

To live, we all need to breathe. Indoors and outdoors, the air we breath is polluted. This pollution causes 7 million deaths each year and is a major cause of human suffering. Air pollution is responsible for 1 out of 8 deaths. The course provides an overview of the latest research on the health effects of pollution. It also gives you a better understanding of the sources, spread and consequences of pollution. Which are its sources? What are the sources? What happens to the body? What diseases can they cause? Which are the most at-risk? What can be done to assess the impact of pollution on air quality? What can we do to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal, which aims to substantially reduce deaths from poisonous chemicals as well as soil, water, and air pollution? These are just a few of the crucial questions that we'll be addressing in this course.

You will be able to meet experts and researchers from both the University of Copenhagen as well as the Technical University of Denmark during the course. The experts work on different areas of air pollution and the health, including toxicology, health assessment, epidemiology and engineering. The fight against air pollution's health effects is an international responsibility. This can only be achieved through global cooperation and new knowledge.

We are glad you have decided to join our course.
