Course Description

This course offers a comprehensive understanding of how digital health apps can be used to treat complex diseases. It follows WHO guidelines that define digital healthcare intervention as using digital technology to achieve health goals. The course covers various topics, including the importance of digital health and its potential impact on the future.

One key focus of the course is digital stress management and mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, and insomnia. Many apps utilize the Cognitive Behavioural Treatment module to interact with users and provide support. Participants will have the opportunity to explore different web tools and apps that assist patients with pain management, cognition improvement, and behavior change. Additionally, the course will showcase case studies of dementia-focused apps that provide patient care.

The market is flooded with healthcare-related apps, but assessing their effectiveness remains a challenge. The course will review research papers and evaluation forms to help participants understand how to evaluate these apps. Despite advancements in medical technology and mobile innovations, there are still unanswered questions about how these applications can benefit the health system.

By the end of this course, participants will have an A-level understanding of digital health development and its future trajectory. It equips them with the knowledge needed to navigate the digitalization of healthcare, develop health apps, and contribute to the advancement of the digital healthcare system.
