Course Description

CATIA V5 can be used in many different ways. CATIA V5 can be used to design products, as well as in the design and wiring of tools and mold design.
Automotive Plastic Design with CATIA V5 focuses on the design of plastic components in automobiles. This course will give you an overview of the various types of plastics that are used in automobiles. This course will help students understand the importance of injection molding technique in plastic component manufacturing.

This course will help you understand CATIA software, from basic sketcher workbench to advanced surfaces design. It also helps you to understand how plastic components are designed based on industry-standard requirements.

This course will teach you about core and cavity design for plastic component design. You will learn how to design engineering features such as ribs, heat stakes and dog houses, as well as design of automotive plastic parts based on injection molding requirements. There are also a few projects that involve plastic component design like the switch bezel design for Class A, coin holder design and side door hand rest design.

The student will be able to understand automotive plastics, the injection molding process, plastic design process and engineering features.
