Public health communicators are responsible for communicating health information with accuracy, clarity, and integrity. Public health communicators need to help their audience make meaningful connections with the information they share, and build trust and credibility with them.

This course focuses on how public health communicators can segment audiences into smaller groups to allow them to tailor messages to their specific needs. Public health communicators must recognize and overcome their biases, assumptions and stereotypes in order to communicate messages that are rooted in empathy. They also need to use persuasive communication strategies to deliver messages that appeal to the core values of their audiences. You will be able to approach media interviews confidently, adapt your communication strategy immediately, and keep your eyes on your audience and their needs.
