Course Description

You will learn the basics of data analytics by working with Python programming exercises to solve basic data analysis problems.

Everyday activities, from transport to healthcare to shopping, are leaving digital footprints that are changing the workplace. Data analytics is the study and analysis of big data.

Employers are looking for individuals with analytical skills to help them understand the data and gain insights from it. Data scientists are here to help.

The demand for data specialists like data engineers and data scientists has more then doubled in five years (+231%) , and there is no sign that it will slow down. This is a high-demand job market, with new positions opening every day.

This microcredential will be taught by Queen Mary's computer science experts. You will learn how to collect and cleanse data. Learn how to communicate and interpret data to others, and gain valuable insight to help you make informed decisions.

The essential ethical and legal issues to consider when creating, analysing, and disseminating data will also be covered.

You'll be able to use the skills you have earned to become a data scientist, or to improve your organisation's ability to analyze and manage data to solve complex problems or predict future trends.
