Course Description

The four-course learning experience DeFi and Future of Finance is made up of four courses. Decentralized Finance, also known as DeFi, is a new technology that allows users to interact with each other through smart contracts or algorithms rather than traditional intermediaries like banks, brokerages, or insurance companies. This technology has the potential of changing finance as we know. It solves key problems in traditional financial services such as inefficiency, lack of inclusion, opacity and centralized control.

The first course, DeFi Infrastructure focuses on the history of decentralized finance and the problems that DeFi solves.

DeFi Primitives is the second course. It covers mechanics, supply, ownership, loans, and swaps.

The third course, DeFi Deep Dive explores the most popular protocols such as MakerDAO and Compound, Uniswap, and dYdX.

Fourth course, DeFi Risks and Opportunities analyzes key risks such as smart contract risk, governance and scaling risk as well as regulatory issues. The last part of the course presents a vision for finance in the future, including the winners as well as the losers.
