Course Description

Fluid-solid interactions: What does this mean? This is when fluid-solid interactions occur. It happens everywhere, in your environment when leaves fly, within you when you feel your heart beating, and above you, when the wings vibrate. This MOOC aims to provide you with the basics to help predict and mitigate such things as sloshing or vortex-induced vibrations, extra mass, and galloping. All possible applications will be considered, including civil engineering and aerospace engineering as well as nuclear engineering and ocean engineering. Biomechanics is even included!

We called this course "Fundamentals in Fluid Solid Interactions". We need to be able to understand the fundamental mechanisms of so many phenomena.

Join us to learn how fluid-solid interactions function and to apply that knowledge.

The course's first session was held in 2016 with over 100 participants. The course is available in subtitles in English as well as Chinese.
