Course Description

A version control system is essential for anyone who creates websites, mobile apps, or web applications. This course will teach you how to use Git, one of the most popular version control systems used by professional developers and designers. Git allows you record and recall different versions, and GitHub allows you to share your code with others, allowing you collaborate with other developers.

You'll start with Git installation. After you have learned the basics of Git, you can create your own local repository and save different versions as snapshots with commits. You will learn how to check your previous versions, update them, or delete them using git checkout, git revert and git reset. After you have learned the basics of GitHub you will be able to create a repository on GitHub and connect it to a remote repository. You can also make commits and other tasks. Branching will be covered and you'll learn how to manage branches both locally and remotely. This course will cover merging branches, merge conflicts, forking, and contributing. You will learn how to copy a remote repository from another person's GitHub account, clone the file to your local computer and then contribute to the original project. You'll also learn how to collaborate on GitHub using a collaboration team and defining rules.
