This online course sponsored by Stanford University, called Giving 2.0: The MOOC, is designed to help individuals become better philanthropists and increase the impact of their giving. Led by social entrepreneur and bestselling author Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen, the course is open to givers from all backgrounds, income levels, and experience levels.
The course consists of six modules, each centered around a specific theme. These modules include 5-10 activity-rich videos that explore the theme and feature lectures by Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen and guest speakers from various industries, such as technology, business, and philanthropy. These guest speakers will provide valuable insights on the topics covered in the course.
Participants will have access to virtual discussion groups called Talkabouts, where they can engage with other course participants on specific topics. Additionally, participants will be able to create an Individual Giving Action Plan that will guide their future philanthropic endeavors.
As part of the course, participants will also complete an informal nonprofit assessment to better understand the organizations they support. Furthermore, after completing the MOOC, participants will continue to receive ongoing education in philanthropy to help them further develop and execute their philanthropic goals.
