Course Description

Learn the principles of good nutrition for babies in the first 12 month of their lives

This course is led by Deakin University nutrition experts. It will help you understand the key milestones of a baby's first years and how to apply them.

You'll learn about the nutritional needs of young children and why healthy food is so important for babies.

Learn about the benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of infant formula

You'll learn how formula and breastfeeding can be an important part of a young child’s nutrition. You'll learn all about the benefits of formula and how it can be so helpful.

This course will also allow you to learn about some of the best-practices and global guidelines for infant nutrition.

Learn how to create a schedule for infant feeding and how to wean.

You'll learn how to feed your baby, what to eat, how to wean your baby onto solid foods, and strategies to deal with fussy eaters.

This course will also help you understand why an infant feeding plan is important. You'll see why infants need to move away from milk and mushy stuff in order to be able to sit at the family table.

Learn about the foods that babies require and how to identify them.

You will be able to understand the principles behind infant feeding guidelines and also learn about healthy and nutritious foods for infants by the end of this course.
