Course Description

Design has evolved to be more than a domain-specific discipline. It is now a way to solve complex and nonlinear problems. Design has become a skill that enhances capabilities, equipping individuals with the ability deal with complexity, uncertainty and even failure. This course will show you how to use design thinking as a strategy and innovation tool in your career. This course is for everyone who's interested in design. We will be covering the process of designing and how to translate the tools and processes into new opportunities. It takes 5 weeks to explore, practice, and apply the design process.

We introduce theoretical concepts, analyze industry case studies and examine the design process with top Australian firms. This is where we build upon it by showing how the speed and ease of the design process can be a productive way to develop ideas and new insights.

You will be able to follow our journey through Australia's top design offices, and hear from leading designers. You will gain a deep understanding of the industry and how design plays a role in the innovation ecosystem. This course will equip you with the necessary tools and techniques that can be applied to your professional environment. You'll learn how to turn problems into solutions and eventually, design innovation.
