Course Description

This course on behavioural activation offers a three-week program that teaches how meaningful activities can help reduce depression and improve mental health. The course covers the fundamental principles and practices of behavioural activation, which is based on the idea that scheduling and completing rewarding activities can lift one's mood and stimulate interest and pleasure in daily life. This approach is easy to learn, works for people of all ages and cultures, and can be effective for varying levels of depression severity. Participants will learn techniques for recognizing and overcoming behavioural traps that contribute to despair, as well as building confidence and motivation to achieve personal goals. The course is developed by experts from the University of York with over 20 years of experience in education and mental health services. Through this course, participants will gain insights into how experts treat depression through behavioural activation.
