Course Description

Discover new sensing devices that use nanotechnology to monitor, screen and detect various life events. We will work together to create endless innovative uses of nanotechnology. This includes monitoring and monitoring of security and quality issues, diagnosis and treatment of disease, as well as the control and maintenance of products and materials.

The broad and interconnected fields of nanotechnology and nanosensors include (bio)chemistry and physics as well as biology and materials science. This course will cover the basic principles of nanotechnology, nanomaterials, and how they can be used to create new sensing properties. This course will cover interesting interdisciplinarity in engineering and science at the nanoscale, to better understand the fundamental physical differences between nanosensors. Students will be able to understand how nanomaterials can be fabricated, characterized, and used for their new purposes by the conclusion of both parts. Students will also apply their nanotechnology knowledge to an area of personal interest.
