Course Description

Learning@Cisco is the division responsible for developing and administering Cisco's certification and training programs. Keith Barker, CCIE#6783, has teamed up with Learning@Cisco to bring you an engaging educational series that covers network fundamentals and IPv4 techniques. This package contains three videos that will teach you everything you need to get started in the field of networking. The video training covers almost nine hours. You will see live demonstrations of interactive games and practice exercises to learn and remember concepts. There is also a study aid with diagrams and worksheets that you can use for the various activities.

The first video, The Nuts and Bolts of Network Devices is a 3 part introduction to the common cables and devices that are used in building a data network. The practical and interactive approach to data networking is a great way to get started.

The second video, Fundamentals of Network Device Communications is a series of three videos that covers everything you need to know about the OSI Reference Model and how to use certain commands to verify the path data through a network.

Mastering IPv4 Addressing is the third video. It consists of two parts that take you from understanding the components of an IPv4 Address to being able subnet address and reverse engineer an address.

This series has the power to provide step-by-step instructions for tasks such as subnetting, along with practice scenarios to reinforce what was learned. Each practice is accompanied by a fun and detailed debrief lecture from Keith.
