Course Description

This SketchUpbeginner course is a project-based course that will help you get started with SketchUp. It will allow you to model and survey your bedroom using SketchUp.

Let's start by measuring you. Here are some tips for measuring a room in SketchUp. Next, we will open a SketchUp document and learn how to create walls using line/rectangle, offset and push/pull tools. To finish the model's shell space, we will create door and window openings with guides.

You will learn how to plan space by adding furniture such as a bed, dresser, and end tables. To fill out the space, you will need to learn how to move, copy, scale, and copy objects from the 3D Warehouse. You will add materials to the walls and floors, trim around doors and create a baseboard around edges of the room. The final step is to set up the perfect view so that you can save the model and export it as a rendering.

This course is intended to get you started. For more advanced tips and workflows, you can check out my "Learn SketchUp The Right Way" course.

This course was recorded with SketchUp Pro 2021. However, older versions of SketchUp and even the web version could be used to create the project.
