Course Description

This ExpertTrack provides a general introduction to the study and practice of politics. This ExpertTrack will give you a foundational understanding of political science, political philosophy, and the machinery of government.

This course will examine the formation of political systems, political ideologies, and the roles of the state and nation.

The first course will give you the skills and knowledge to continue your studies. This course will introduce you to critical theory, political science, and philosophy. The key concepts of political ideologies will be covered, including conservatism, socialism and feminism.

This course will provide an in-depth overview of democracy, the political economy, globalization and the machinery that governs it. The next step is to examine identity politics, which will include an examination of economic individualism in the contexts of class-based politics. You will be introduced to key texts and key figures from the discipline as well as important theories and arguments in the history of political studies.

You'll learn about politics on a global level and compare different models of governance, such as comparing systems that have presidents or prime ministers.

The ExpertTrack will give you a deeper understanding and insight into the world of politics.
