The Java Language by Coursera

This is the second course of the Java as a Specialized Second Language. This course will discuss Java data types and primitive data types. It will also explain data classes. You'll also learn about characters and strings, and will add a class to the lab. Next we will look at Java Control Structures. We will explain IF statements and loops as well as arrays. Finally, we'll discuss Switch Statements in the Java Programming Environment.

We'll then discuss inheritance and how Java methods and properties are inherited. Before moving on to the quiz and lab, we'll discuss overloading and polymorphism. In the final module, we will discuss how all the lessons from the previous lessons can be used together in our final lab. This course requires you to install Java. This Specialization's instructor will guide you through installing the environment in course 1. Because the knowledge is cumulative, it is recommended to take these courses in sequence.
