Course Description

The 20th century was known as the century of physics. Concepts such as time, space, energy and particles have been understood at a deeper level over the last 120 years. Relativity and quantum mechanics are two new paradigms in thinking.

The Understanding Modern Physics course 1 covers special relativity, general relativity, and cosmology. This course will explain: (i.e. how space and time relate to each other and how they can be unified to form a fundamental structure of spacetime. (ii.e. why spacetime curves as a response to matter and how this affects gravity. (iii.)
