Course Description

This course teaches how to create a Spring Boot RESTful web app, exploring inversion of control, dependency injection, controllers, services, and Spring Data JPA. Testing is done using the insomnia API client, with an emphasis on using the debugger. Intellij IDEA is the IDE used, with guidance on using Maven for build management. Version control is also covered, including committing and pushing to Github. Installation of Java, Maven, and Intellij is explained, along with generating a Spring Boot app using Spring initializr. The role of Maven and the pom. XML file, adding dependencies, creating controller and service classes, and implementing persistence are all covered. Lombok and Javax libraries are also discussed.
