Do you want to learn how to create your own jewelry using CAD/CAM software. This is your chance to learn at your own pace. This is a BEGINNER course. No prior experience is required. This class is the ideal way to learn about 3D jewelry design and modeling.
This class uses Autodesk Flex 360. This CAD/CAM software can be used by professionals, but it is free for students, educators, hobbyists, and startups. To qualify for the free version, you must be a hobbyist or a startup and make less than $100,000 per year. Fusion 360 is cloud-based. It can be downloaded here: DOWNLOAD AutoDesk Fusion 360
SIX SIMPLE STEPS
We begin by discussing designing in a 3D space.
Then, we will be able to use the most commonly used tools in Fusion 360 for jewelry design.
In lesson 1, we set up our workspace with all the tools and settings required to design and model jewelry. The spline tool is used to draw the heart shape of the pendant.
Lesson 2 uses the mirror tool to finish the heart. We then use the press and pull tool for turning the heart into a three-dimensional shape.
Lesson 3: We create the hole for the chain to slide into using the sweep and spline tools.
We will use the fillet tool in Lesson 4 to smoothen the edges of the pendant.
Lessons 5 and 6 allow you to save the file to your Fusion 360 cloud account. The file can then be exported as a.STL file that can be used for 3D printing.
We will be looking at basic rendering options in Fusion 360.
This class will give you the foundation to create a slider pendant for 3D printing.
