Course Description

MotionLayout is a buzzword that you've probably heard, seen, or experienced. What does it look like in reality? What are its current limitations? Is it easy to use? Is it possible to create the demos we have seen? Is it a trick? Or have they been made in Adobe After Effects. This talk will show you how to use MotionLayout and create an animated mockup from a crazy designer. You can see the mock-up and then crumble when you consider how much time it would take to build it on Android. This talk will show you animated goodness as well as the basics of MotionLayout. Learn what a MotionScene and how it can be used to separate states and transitions from your layout. You will also learn how to use click-and-swipe handling to trigger transitions. We'll also discuss how KeyAttributes can be used to modify animations in certain frames and how CustomAttributes can be used to animated specific parts of a View. This talk will give you the basics of MotionLayout so that you can have fun creating animations and transitions. You'll be able to create the crazy animations and transitions your designers have created for you!
