Course Description

Inclusion pedagogies can create a healthy and fair learning environment for all students. In this three-week program you'll explore the practices of inclusive education. You'll learn ways to ensure that every student has the opportunity to realize their full potential in your school. Create a welcoming learning environment by implementing better classroom management strategies. Inclusion-based learning environments encourage equality, fairness, and provide support to their daily structures and practices. In this course, you'll explore the idea of inclusion as well as the issues that surround it. Utilizing behaviour management strategies and whole-classroom strategies, you'll discover how to create an environment in which students are comfortable and confident to learn. By gaining this understanding you will be able to identify the areas that need improvement across the school and devise strategies to encourage inclusiveness across all of your teaching. Examine ways to create a diverse and inclusive learning in your classroom. There are many important concepts that affect educational inclusion that affect inclusion, such as unconscious bias, social and medical models and the concept of differentiation. Learn about the various aspects of each and methods to deal with their effects on learning. Learn practical strategies for teaching to ensure that the individual needs of students are addressed in the classroom. Create an inclusive ethos in the school community. Moving out of the school, and discover the ways that inclusive teaching can be a the foundation for your entire school's ethos or mission statement. In this way you will make sure that your students are in good hands throughout their journey through school. At the end of the course you'll be familiar with the idea of inclusive pedagogies, and how they could be developed, and integrated into the educational frameworks.
