Course Description

Refocus on your animation and simplify expression management

Expressions in After Effects can be wonderful, but they have their problems. You can avoid the hassle and spend your time improving animations, not the code by creating an expression library. This class will teach you how to create a reusable library, provide practical examples, and give you a solid foundation to continue using expressions.

These are the benefits of expression libraries:

  • You can easily share expressions between layers or projects
  • Make building blocks for responsive template layouts
  • You can code in the comfort of a text editor
  • One central location to adjust animation behavior

This class will teach you how to:

  • Make an expression library
  • Reuse code and values
  • Access your composition using an expression
  • Some practical functions for dynamic layouts should be written

I also include a chapter that explains the code in detail for those who want to dive deeper into the subject. This will allow you to express yourself more freely and better understand the code.

This class is for:

  • After Effects animators
  • Designers of responsive lower-thirds
  • Creators of Adobe stock templates and Premier Pro templates
  • Anyone going mad with those tiny expression boxes?

You may find my introduction to expressions class useful if you are new to expressions.

For more information on sizing, please refer to my class After Effects size expressions: Dynamic text, Scaling, Images, and Debugging.

If you're like me and you feel overwhelmed by all the assets, clips, folders, and folders, Sonja's class on efficiency in After Effects is for you.
