Course Description

Simulator tools are great for complex animations. There is no one tool that does it all. This course, Maya Dynamics: Combining nCloth with Bifrost, will teach you how to combine the strengths of nCloth, Bifrost and create a combined simulation. This course will teach you how to use Maya's simulation tools and create a huge blob that can devour everything in its path. Your first task is to transform a simple object into a physical volume. As long as the blob is allowed to move on a flat surface, it will create its own shape. You can also animated the blob's direction so it attacks things on a street. You will then add another dynamic layer that allows the blob's surroundings to ooze or splash. After completing this course, you will be able to control all kinds of semi-solid and liquid simulations. Maya is required.

Skills You Will Gain

What You Will Learn

You will learn how to use the strengths of nCloth and Bifrost to create a combined simulation

This course focuses on using Maya's simulation tools to create a giant blob capable of devouring anything in its path

Starting from simple object, your first task is to turn the shape into a physical volume

From there, the blob will find its own shape as it is allowed to roll around on a rigid surface

To add character, you will animate its direction to attack things along a city street

Finally, you will add a second dynamic layer allowing the blob to ooze and splash in its surroundings

When you are finished with this course you will have the knowledge to direct all types of liquid and semi-solid simulations
