Course Description

It is important that the compositing artist receives your renders in order to make adjustments in post-production. It's not possible to hand off a flat beauty render. Multi-pass rendering was created for situations like this. This Maya tutorial will explain multi-pass rendering in detail and show you the techniques and tools you need. We will start with layer overrides and render layers. Next we will dive into the render pass system. We'll learn about pass organization and how to start using passes with contribution maps. We'll then explore advanced render pass features like frame buffers. You'll be able to modify the contribution and even make your own. You'll be able to control your final renders, and how they are broken down for compositing after this Maya training. Software required: Maya 2015.
