Course Description

All employees must be managed in some way. But approaches to managing employees varying from employee-to-employee, job-to-job, manager-to-manager, organization-to-organization, and country-to-country. This course will help you develop your own strategy for managing employees. It will show you how to implement alternative HRM strategies, explain the importance of legal contexts, and think about what motivates employees. This course will give you the conceptual and factual basis to develop specific HRM skills for subsequent courses. These include managing performance and hiring employees. You don't have any knowledge about HRM. That's OK! This course will give you a better understanding of the various options for managing employees and a better understanding of how workers work. You'll also be able to build your HRM skills.
