Course Description

Master the principles, tools, and methods of Lean Six Sigma to improve quality and productivity in your projects.

Lean Six Sigma allows organizations to find weaknesses in their business processes and to measure, analyze, and improve their performance. This will allow them to increase customer satisfaction and lower costs.

This program will help you earn the TUM Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate by learning the basics of the Lean Six Sigma methodology. The Green Belt Certification is earned by applying your knowledge to a predetermined project.

The American Society for Quality's Certified Six Sigma Green Belt Standard reflects the Body of Knowledge of the three first courses of the series (QPLS1-3x). These courses will teach you the DMAIC process improvement cycle. You'll also learn how Lean Production principles improve productivity and quality, and allow for organizational transformation. All concepts will be used online, using interactive exercises and case studies.

Learners receive their Yellow Belt Certification and then put that knowledge into practice to earn the TUM Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. (QPLS4x) This certification is based on the recommendation of International Society of Six Sigma Professionals. We have a predefined project about environmental littering. It aims to improve the cleanliness of selected areas in your community and ensure the sustainability of your actions.

You will be guided using all the relevant software, specific tasks, a project book template to document your results, graded review of your documentation after each DMAIC Phase, and weekly online sessions for any questions. After the completion of this course, and a final review of your project storybook and collected data, the Green Belt Certification will then be awarded.

These TUM Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Yellow Belt certifications will allow you to show your operational excellence and project story book to reduce costs and improve customer satisfaction in any organization. These new skills will help you get into a job or advance your career.

NOTE: To earn the TUM Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certificate, you must complete all three courses: QPLS1x-QPLS2x and then QPLS3x. You will also receive the Verified Certificates for the Yellow Belt Certificate. You can then start your Green Belt Certification project using QPLS4x. The deadline to complete the courses and projects is not set.
