Screenplay Character Introductions Part 1: Description

Scripts are not meant to be wasted. We must get readers onboard quickly.

It's a great way to connect people is to give them a glimpse into the characters right from the moment they meet you. It's not enough to give a generic description of the character. We need our readers to be interested and curious in a short time.

How can we make characters engage readers immediately? This class will discuss the best ways to introduce characters into your story using Description. Part Two of this class will expand on the topic by adding Action and Dialogue.

This class does not require any special equipment!
These exercises will be creative and fun. No worries if you're just starting out in screenplay writing. Use a Word Doc, pen and paper. You can use your scriptwriting software if you are an experienced screenwriter and just want to focus on this skill.

Is this only for screenwriters?
We'll spend some time discussing the unique aspects of a script but I guarantee that no matter what type of writer you are, you will be able to get your mind rethought about how much it takes for a character make a great first impression.
