Course Description

Learn how to make learning stick, and become a healthcare trainer

This five-week course is based upon the most recent research on how adults learn. The course is for those who are new to training, or those who are already trained and want to improve their skills. It will also benefit those who facilitate online, hybrid, and classroom learning.

It provides evidence-based techniques and methods that participants can use for learning to be real and to transfer to practice.

Learn evidence-based training methods

The course will teach you a variety of proven techniques. Each technique is modelled as you go along.

The course content will include the selection and blending methods and delivery routes that optimise the transfer of learning into practice.

You can improve your planning, design, and delivery skills to become a skilled trainer.

You'll also find guidance on assessment, teaching techniques, motivation, and how to motivate learners. Practical advice will be given on how to deal with nerves and unexpected obstacles during training.

You'll be able, by the end of this course, to place your training, synchronous or not, in the context of 'causing learning'. You will learn techniques that ensure learning lasts.

Health Education England offers training and learning experts.
