Course Description

This course is peer-reviewed. The capstone project will allow you to use the knowledge you have gained in previous courses. This project will produce an estimate of a company as the final output. Depending on how much information is available, you can choose between a public company and a startup. This capstone project can be done if you own a startup. You can also do this project for a public company if you don't have your own startup. The first step in this process is to find a company you are interested. The next step is to research the company's industry and describe its business. You can then make an estimation of the firm's earnings, growth, and cash flows based on your research. You will need to use the financial statement analysis knowledge you gained to make this estimate. Once you've determined the cash flows and earnings of the firm, you can use the discounted cash flow method as well as multiple methods to determine the company's value. You will also be required to determine whether you want to accept a project that is offered to you by the company. This Capstone project will help you to understand startup valuations and financial analysis.
