Course Description

Software engineers live in an age where technology is advancing at an alarming rate. The mobile revolution has given us incredible power and created a computing environment that is accessible to all. We have seen people quickly ask the big question: Is it web or a native app as we work to create such solutions. This course will attempt to answer that question by examining computing history and learning from our past successes and failures. Then, we will examine the strengths and weaknesses of native platforms and the technology behind them. Quickly, we realize that there are two sides of the question: Is the Web used as a delivery platform or as an experience platform? Or as an experience platform. Walmart Labs has experienced these problems, so we add our own case study to illustrate the problem.
