Course Description

You want to know more about electronics and circuits? Are you curious about the electronics that drive sensors and actuators? Or how to make your phone last longer or make it run faster? This course teaches circuits and electronics by Anant Agarwal, edX CEO, and MIT Professor and his colleagues.

All majors in MIT Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS), can take these online Circuits & Electronics classes.

The topics covered include circuit abstraction, circuit elements, such as resistors, sources, signals and networks; circuit design, basic digital design, and digital logic methods; circuit design, circuit analysis methods, and digital abstraction; electronic devices, including MOSFETs digital switches, amplifiers, and energy storage elements like capacitors. Design in the frequency and time domains; opamps, filters and analog and digital circuits. Signal processing and applications are also included. The XSeries program also includes lab exercises and design.

Weekly coursework will include interactive video sequences and readings from the textbook. There will also be homework, fun online labs, and optional tutorials. Each course will have a final exam.

These courses can be completed at your own pace. There are no weekly deadlines.

Student Testimonials

The “Brilliant course This course is the best introduction to electronics in Universe. Ilya - Interesting material, clear explanations, well prepared questions, challenging homeworks, and fun labs.

The online learning platform “6.002x is a landmark in its field. It brings together Prof. Agarwal’s passion for education and electronics. The online circuit design program works well. It is not easy. I used the information from the class to build an electronic cat feeder.”- Stan
