Most of the time, radiologists work for hospitals. However, they may work for medical clinics or private radiology practices. Their job is to obtain and interpret medical images of patients. They must understand various components of health and must have a thorough understanding of physical anatomy. They must share their findings with patients’ physicians. They must have advanced computer skills. Since images are taken using high-technology equipment, radiologists must be comfortable with state of the arts tools and instruments. They must make sure that their equipment is clean and sanitized. They must have oral and written communication skills. They must be aware whenever new radiology equipment available in the marketplace. They must read relevant professional journals. They may have to attend additional training classes, workshops, and conferences relevant to their job. They may have to travel to vendors’ sites. They may have to coach new radiologists.
