A junior recruiter usually holds an entry-level job within the human resources department of a company helping in the recruitment of potential employees. The job typically entails working in a in a traditional office during the daytime hours of the office space. A junior recruiter is typically the one who initiates recruitment, announces open positions to solicit applications, and then identifies and screen candidates who are qualified. They often arrange meetings with managers who are hiring, make offers for jobs and coordinate the beginning dates and/or orientations for new employees. They also coordinate tests prior to employment, including background checks, tests for skills and drug tests. The work they do is not supervisory in nature. This person usually is directly accountable to the senior recruiter.
A junior recruiter has to possess a high school diploma or equivalent. However, some companies require a bachelor's degree from fields like HR administration, Business Administration, and communications. Experience in recruiting is usually mandatory or preferential. A junior recruiter should be attentive to details and be extremely organized and be able to prioritize tasks in their job. This job demands the ability to think critically, interact with others, and communication abilities.
