Computer controllable numerically (CNC) programmer and operator is a highly skilled position that is typically found in production firms. They operate computer-controlled machines which perform a variety of tasks, including cutting, drilling, or forming materials. The raw materials used by CNC machines could be too tough or heavy for people to shape or manipulate by themselves.
A CNC operator and programmer are mostly responsible for writing instructions for the machines they operate, putting these in the CNC program and ensuring that the executed commands result in desired results. The commands must also be effective and cost-effective. Additionally, CNC operator and programmers solve problems caused that are encountered by CNC users, and, if the issues aren't solved, report the issues to supervisors.
A lot of companies require CNC operators and programmers to have previous experience working with CNC machines (typically about 3 years). Additionally, companies might require applicants to be familiar with particular machineries (such as a specific type of axe that is used for the particular machine). CNC programmers and operators require the ability to work independently and effectively communicate.
