Course Description

Chris Tarnowieckyi, an expert on Apple Mac OS X, will guide you beyond the basics to learn more about the Apple Mac operating system. This course assumes that you have a basic understanding of OS X. You will begin by exploring the native OS X file structure and the command line interface. Chris will then show you how to update and install the software. He will also demonstrate how to examine package receipts and how to remove software from the App store. This tutorial will show you how to secure your Mac OS X and remove data, how to create and manage secure accounts, and how passwords can be used to protect it. Sharing services such as screen and file sharing will be covered. You will also learn how to solve problems such as force quitting an app, reviewing log files, and using network utility to fix network problems.
After completing this computer-based training course, your skills will be able to take full advantage all the features in OS X Mavericks. You can follow along with the author through the lessons by downloading working files.
