Course Description

These lessons will teach you how to create a deformation set for a humanoid using Maya muscles. This lesson will cover how to convert human anatomy into a 3D deformation rig, attaching muscle objects to an animation skeleton and finally how to make these muscles change the geometry of the character. To simplify the process, we will use a custom Python script function. You will learn more about realistic deformation settings based on a film-production workflow by the end of this tutorial. Jan Jinda and Pavel Hrubos are special thanks for the werewolf model, and the animation clips. Software required: Maya 2016.

What You Will Learn

By the end of the tutorial, you will know more about realistic deformation setups based on a film production workflow

Learn how to create a deformation setup for a humanoid character using muscles from Maya toolset

Software required Maya 2016

Specials thanks goes out to Jan Jinda for the werewolf model and Pavel Hrubos for the animation clips

We will also use a custom python script function, written for this tutorial, to streamline the setup

We'll look at converting human anatomy to a 3d deformation rig, making muscle objects and attaching them to an animation skeleton, and finishing with how to make these muscles deform the character's geometry
