Course Description

Global fashion has a huge social and environmental impact. Many people don't realize the impact of the clothes they wear on the environment. After completing Fashion Revolution's 4-week course, you will be equipped with new knowledge and ideas that will help you contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals by your wardrobe. The course will begin with an overview of how clothing is made, as well as the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry. We will discuss sustainable fashion and why it is important to reform the industry. It will also help you understand the Sustainable Development Goals and how improving global fashion supply chains is linked to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

Next, we will be looking at how clothes impact global issues like poverty, gender inequality and forced and bonded labor, child labour, and other human rights violations. We will also examine how clothing affects the health of the planet and its ecosystems. This includes issues like global warming, ocean microplastic pollution, loss of biodiversity, and forest destruction. These issues will be addressed by you identifying the Sustainable Development Goals. The final week of this course will focus on global consumption habits, which is a major driver of many of fashion's environmental and social impacts. The week will end with a list of steps that you can take to ensure that our clothes are made in a fair, safe, sustainable, and clean manner. The CPD Certification Service has accredited this course, so it can be used as evidence of your professional development.
