Getting Started in After Effects: Flag Animation

This class will teach you how to animated any type of flag or banner using After Effects. We will cover three methods to animate flags in After Effects. You can use the skills you learn in a variety of animation projects, including branding and GIFs on Facebook.

What You Will Learn:

I will show you how to build and rig an animated flag. Learn about the animation cycle of a flag and how it would behave when held by a real person. Finally, you will learn how you can stylize your illustration using After Effects and export it to Skillshare or any other online platform.

We Will Cover

• After Effects Illustration. I will show you how to illustrate your flag using After Effects. You can also use any type of flag, including images.
• After Effects Animation. We'll be discussing my three methods for animating a flag using After Effects.
• Simple Frame by Frame Animation. This last method of animating flags will allow you to do it in After Effects in a frame-by-frame fashion.
• Applying effects & techniques in other types of animation. This course will teach you how to apply the techniques and knowledge gained in other areas of animation, beyond flags.
• Project: Export your animated GIF. I will show you how to export your finalized artwork as a gif or as an mp4.
