Course Description

This Unity tutorial will show you how to use the Mecanim system to get started in Unity. First, we'll discuss the basics of exporting characters from any 3D package. Next, we will discuss Unity's import settings and then get to work creating our character. We will learn how Unity uses the humanoid-rig and how to separate our animations from our character file in FBX. Next, we will learn how to create state machines and blend tree that allow us to combine multiple animations based on key presses. Next, we will discuss layers and avatar masks that can be used to overlay certain animations. The tutorial will end with a discussion on how to re-target animations of characters to create new characters. Unity 4.1 is required.
