Course Description

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Mantaflow Smoke & Fire Simulation Guide! This course teaches you how to create realistic smoke and fire in Blender 2.82. Mantaflow has revolutionized fluid simulation. This is why I will show you the basics and how it works in the first section.

The domain will then be covered and the effects of each setting and value on the simulation. Next, we will discuss the different objects that you can add to your simulation, such as smoke, fire and collisions. We will also dive into the material to learn how to create realistic smoke and fire using the node editor.

Five tutorials are available in which you can use the smoke and fire simulation to create interesting animations. The first tutorial teaches you how to create realistic fire in Cycles. This tutorial will show you how to set up the simulation and create interesting materials. Then, we'll show you how to render it out! We will also learn how to create realistic fire in Eevee!

The second tutorial focuses on creating realistic fire using sparks. We will use an HDRI (high-dynamic range image) to light the scene.

A swirling smoke animation is also available. This scene uses the curve modifier. We will also learn how to animated a sphere that follows it. We will also learn how to render smoke using the Eevee real-time render engine.

You like explosions right? You are in luck, because there is a tutorial on the exact topic. This animation shows a sphere falling onto the ground and exploding in multiple pieces.

As a bonus, we will also be creating low-poly fire with the particle system. This section will show you how to make a fancy material that changes the color of the particles as it rises into air.

Click the button to enroll if you're interested in learning more about the smoke and fire simulation in Blender. I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!

Thanks

Stephen
