Course Description

This tutorial will show you how to make your futuristic city scale using animated cameras and vehicles. Students will learn how to plan, use reference materials, and create their own tutorial using the techniques in the video. This tutorial will show you how to create a 3D model to scale and how to maximize the use of 3 tools: extrude and inset in polygonal modeling. To create different tones in buildings, we will use textures. We will discuss and demonstrate how to clone buildings. Staging is also discussed. This allows us to make the most of a small number of models, while still achieving a sense scale and variety. Fly-throughs will show how to create and animated a camera that travels with a vehicle through the model city. Textures will come from 3ds Max libraries. To create futuristic skies around the scene, a procedural map will also be used. Mental ray rendering, the daylight system for sophisticated shadows and ambient lighting, and reflections for glasses are also covered. Software required: 3ds max.
