Course Description

Reflection and exploration are encouraged during the centenary of World War I. This short course will show you how film and art can portray heroism.

We will examine recruitment posters and the messages they conveyed for those going to war or those staying home. You'll also research WW1 art and reflect upon a chosen painting. Then, you will continue to examine contemporary German film. You'll consolidate your learning by reviewing a book, film or TV program about the First World War.
