Avionics engineers are employed primarily by companies which work with aircraft and aviation. Employers generally search for applicants who have Bachelor's degrees, generally in Aeronautics, Aviation Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Some require as many as five years of experience, but others will accept a combination of education and experience, and some organizations accept experience and training without higher education.
