The main responsibility is being able to cooperate and form alliance relationships to generate new customers and improve efficiency in governance. This position puts extra emphasis on working closely with others in the marketing department, the sales team, the product management team, the engineering team, and the customer team.A director of strategic alliances is also required to have adequate negotiation abilities. Some of the work involved with this position will have to do with negotiating agreements and working closely with others to ensure that a fair agreement is met. At least a bachelor's degree or equivalent is required for this position, but a master's degree is preferred. Also, ten years of relevant work experience is required, along with five years in a leadership position.Managing business partners at the executive level is strongly preferred and will ensure success in this high-level position. A director of strategic alliances will sometimes manage projects and budgets, so experience with those two areas are recommended for the position. Also, this position would require managing people and budgets in general. Not only will this position be relationship-driven, it will be analytic-driven as well.
