Become a UX Designer with this Coursera Program

The Google UX Design Professional Certificate program offered by Coursera provides learners with the knowledge and skills necessary to become UX designers. This course will provide an answer to a major question which is -’ How can I become a UX Designer”. It is designed to help learners develop a strong foundation in UX design principles and techniques, as well as to provide hands-on experience in industry-standard tools and processes.

The instructors of this course are Michael Dedrick, Kunal D. Patel, and Shabnam Kashani.

Michael Dedrick, a UX Designer and Educator, has over 10 years of experience designing user-centered digital products. He has also served as a mentor and instructor for various online courses on UX design. Dederick’s teaching style is greatly appreciated by learners.

Kunal D. Patel is a UX Designer and Researcher with over 6 years of experience in the field. He has worked on various projects ranging from web and mobile applications to software and hardware products. He teaches with clarity and effectiveness. 

Shabnam Kashani is a UX Designer and Accessibility Specialist with over 10 years of experience in the field. She has worked on various projects related to user-centered design, accessibility, and inclusion. Students appreciated her lucid explanations about accessibility design.

  This course teaches learners how to create wireframes and prototypes using industry-standard design tools like Sketch and Figma.
   
• UX Design: From Wireframe to Prototype
  
  This course covers advanced prototyping techniques, including animations, transitions, and interactions.
   
• UX Design: From Prototype to Design System
  
  This course teaches learners how to turn their prototypes into cohesive design systems using design principles, style guides, and design libraries.

Throughout the program, learners will work on several hands-on projects, applying their skills to real-world design problems. The Google UX Design Professional Certificate program is designed for learners with little or no experience in UX design. Upon completion of the program, learners will have developed a strong foundation in UX design principles and techniques, as well as develop a portfolio of projects demonstrating their skills and knowledge. Learners will be prepared for entry-level UX design roles or further study in UX design.

Being a UX Designer, it is mandatory to keep yourself updated with the latest trends and technologies.  I was interested in UX design but wanted to learn the subject in-depth, so I opted for this program. The course taught me the thinking process behind design, a foundational principle of this field. The compulsory assignments helped me stay focused.
