Course Description

This series of lessons will teach you how to import the motion tracker output, create a 3D model, light it, render it, and then combine it with your original footage in NUKE. To make it easier to work, we will set up our motion track scene. We will add the original footage to the scene and align everything. The next step is to bring in the 3D object and teach how to position it in the scene. The next step is to learn how to create the ground geometry and lighting that matches the original shot. To make compositing easier, we'll create multiple render passes. We'll then learn how to use NUKE to create multiple render passes and layers. To finish the shot, we'll apply realistic motion blur and a global color correction. For project files, Maya 2010 and Nuke 6.0 are required.

After we render, we'll jump into NUKE and learn about such topics as shadow matching, color matte usage and various techniques to match our 3d render with our live action back-plate

Learn how to take the output from a motion tracker app and import a 3D model and light, render, and composite it into our original footage in NUKE

Software required Maya 2010 and NUKE 6

We'll begin this project by setting up our motion tracked scene by adding the original footage and aligning everything to make working easier

We'll finish with a global color correct and add realistic motion blur to finish our shot

We'll then bring in our 3d object and learn how to place it in our scene

We'll then create multiple render passes and layers to make compositing much easier

We'll then learn how to create ground geometry and create lighting that matches our original shot
